I realize I skipped this week’s Holy Sunday, but in my defense this whole “spring forward” thing really took it’s toll. And by “spring forward”, I mean the two glasses of wine I had Saturday night. GRACE, thank you, Jesus.
I did manage to drag myself out of bed and go to church, so points for attendance! I also spent some time reading a book on gratefulness. Quoting Julian of Norwich, Ann Voskamp writes:
The highest form of prayer is to the goodness of God…God only desires that our soul cling to him with all of its strength, in particular, that it clings to his goodness. For of all the things our minds can think about God, it is thinking upon his goodness that pleases him most and brings the most profit to our soul.
Obviously, I’ve been doing this Joy Journal wrong. Instead of just concentrating on thankfulness on Mondays, I should be doing this EVERY DAY. Oh.
I’m thankful for:
91. A beautiful day of cloud watching
92. Dinner and dancing with good friends
93. Ibuprofen
94. The deliciousness of croissant rolls
95. Italian Mastiff puppies at the dog park
96. Spring breezes and kids with kites
97. watching dvd’s and eating soup
98. free Friday downloads at Barnes and Noble
99. a clean house
100. recipes shared online
So now I’m adding all of these to an actual journal, then I’ll try and write in it daily. Hopefully, next Monday I will be on a number much higher than 100. I have a blessed life – the Lord deserves to be praised. And even if I don’t – the Lord deserves to be praised.
I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the LORD; the humble will hear it and rejoice. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together … Psalm 34:1-3.
