Gratitude

We prayed for a couple at church today who are heading to Cambodia. One of the things they’ll be doing is living on a barge and providing clean water to the poorest of the poor. People so poor that they don’t have land to live on, instead making barges out of trash, using the lake as a toilet AND as a source of drinking water. It’s easy to read today’s headlines and start to despair, but when I think of the things other people have to deal with, well, my woes seem pretty insignificant. I’ve decided to take Monday’s and document things I’m thankful for, a Joy Journal as Ann Voskamp calls it. So, ten things, in no particular order:

1. A husband who cooks.

2. My darling, hair-cutting daughter.

3. A comfy home.

4. A remote-controlled fireplace.

5. Tivo

6. The ability to worship without fear

7. The Cranberry and White Chocolate Cookies given to us today.

8. My soft bed

9. The Radigals

10. Family, family, family!

Ephesians 5:20 Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
